Is your identity keeping you stuck?
This isn’t one of those posts where I’m telling you to just BE different blah blah blah… to just change who you’re being blah blah blah… we see that all over the internet, all the time.
But what I’ve seen again and again in my clients is that their identity keeps them stuck. Who they believe they are is the reason they’re lagging. They still identify themselves as the person who “can’t”. The woman who is limited in some way.
And this identity then leads to them moving more slowly. They find it harder to start. Harder to keep going. Harder to stay energised and use their time effectively. Their identity keeps pulling them back.
For 3 years before I became a Hay House author, the first thing I wrote every single morning (without fail) was ‘I am a Hay House author.’ You can borrow the one I’m using right now, which is: ‘I am an extremely wealthy woman.’
When you tell yourself this over and over again and let it sink into your subconscious, you start to notice that you breathe differently. You move differently. You walk differently. Your energy takes up more space…
And all of a sudden, you have more energy. You feel more driven. The world opens up to you. Too many people allow themselves to be defined by their external circumstances. But a wealthy woman knows that her situation is only temporary. She is willing to make short-term sacrifices to achieve her long-term goals.
She knows that where she is now is only a moment. This isn’t her forever home. This isn’t her forever bank balance. And the crazy thing is – the world starts responding to who you believe you are.
Your brain will reaffirm this identity that you’re taking on by filtering out evidence to the contrary and noticing things you can take on as proof.
Your reality is responding to you, so it’s important that you don’t give up your power to your current external situation, because all you are doing is repeating that same feedback loop. You see your current life and, therefore, you believe that’s all you’re capable of = keeping you stuck at the same level.
However, when you truly embody your wealthy woman identity from the core of your soul – your solar plexus, the centre of your body – and radiate this identity outwards, it soaks into your cells, it seeps into your nervous system and it’s the energy & presence that people can feel dripping off you.
