Why Impatience Is Killing Your Business

I am impatient to my detriment – I always burn my mouth because I don’t have the patience for my food to cool down, I eat the mochi too soon (Ally says I’m his timer for 3 minutes before it’s ready) and I agonise that everything I want isn’t here, like yesterday…

So I know what it’s like to be impatient as an entrepreneur. And the thing is? It only leads to agony.

No one else is getting harmed by your impatience but you.

It doesn’t even look like it’s taking a long time from the outside because no-one else can see it. Everyone else will say that things are going so fast for you.

Impatience is you trying to rush something that isn’t ready yet. Taking the cake out of the oven before it’s fully baked. Something can’t survive if it’s born too soon because the foundations are too weak.

Building the foundations is always a stage of the process, and it’s a dangerous thing to be rushed (think of what happens when the beginning of a love relationship is rushed – it can burn out too soon or end up being unaligned).

Patience really is a virtue.

Impatience will also make you think that you should be further along than you are.

This will destroy your sense of confidence as an entrepreneur.

Seeing where you actually are allows you to plan for getting to the future strategically, instead of just moaning about the present and past.

It makes it easier to be grateful for where you are right now.

Milk the most out of each phase of life because they will all pass. Even the ones that you want to move quicker will have something you’ll miss.

The time it takes doesn’t matter at all once you’ve got it. I have only ever looked back and been grateful that my manifestations arrived at the time they did. The timing has always been perfect when my desires finally arrive.

So, what’s the rush? What are you avoiding about your present? What are you trying to run away from?

If you were becoming a doctor, lawyer or architect, you would be in training for 7 years. Why is becoming a business owner any different? You’re learning the roles of a sales person, designer, copywriter, accountant, tech person and so much more, all in one

It takes time to build a business, and anyone who tells you it doesn’t is lying (or hiding the history of the 10 previous failed businesses they’ve had under their belt which allowed them to go quicker with this one).

You are learning and laying down the bricks of your empire.

Your business is growing and you are also growing as a person as well.

It takes time to clear out things to release & it takes time to expand.

If you haven’t moved on to the next stage yet, it means there are still things left you haven’t learned.

It will all be revealed over time – enjoy the surprise.

And celebrate every little thing that happens on the way 🍾✨

Because there’s a lot to celebrate now.
