  • 5 Signs That You’re Going Through A Spiritual Awakening

When strangers slide into my DM’s, often it’s to talk about this – the weird and wonderful things which have started happening to them since they started becoming spiritually aware.

They’ll be different for everyone, but you can pretty much guarantee that it’s not going to look like the dreamy path to enlightenment that you’d once imagined. Cue the wheels of your life falling off while you’re plunged into a whole new perception of reality, without anyone there to hold your hand…

The good news is that you’re not the only one!

Everyone who’s gone through a spiritual awakening will understand how you’re feeling, which is why it’s so important to have a spiritual community around you and a Spiritual Coach if you want to develop your gifts or make a career out of them.

We never stop awakening, we just unlock new levels.

You’ll get more used to the process each time and the symptoms will become more subtle – like being thirsty, having headaches, and crazy dreams where you feel like your frequency is shifting while you sleep.

However, the initial stages of awakening usually feel the most profound and life-altering. If you’re going through any of these right now, know that you’re not alone and you’re not going crazy – you’re just going through your spiritual awakening!

    ⋆☽  You’re more sensitive to alcohol…  ☾⋆

    Or unhealthy food. Or drugs.

Our body is an amazing intuitive tool, and when you open up spiritually you’ll find that you can gain accurate insights about people and situations based on what you feel.

This sensitivity can be a wonderful thing to have as an extra spiritual sense, but it’ll make you hella sensitive to any intoxicants which aren’t good for your body.

If you’ve been feeling more sensitive to certain foods and drinks, it could be a physical symptom that you’re going through a spiritual awakening.

    ⋆☽  You’re in a hermit phase…  ☾⋆

Going through a spiritual awakening can be really overwhelming, especially if you aren’t aware that it’s happening. As your energy opens up and your intuitive antenna get more sensitive to your surroundings, you may feel an inexplicable urge to hide away for a while.

Maybe you want to spend more time than usual alone because you’re finding that groups and crowds drain your energy.

Your mind and body are trying to figure out how they’re going to navigate the world with your new found sensitivity, so going through a hermit phase is a key sign that you’re partway through an awakening.

⋆☽  Your favourite pastimes no longer appeal…  ☾⋆

If activities that you used to love – like shopping, partying or gaming – don’t appeal to you as much as they used to, it might be because of your spiritual awakening!

The intense shift that you’re experiencing can make other things seem dull and trivial in comparison.

How you’re changing on the inside might change what you like on the outside, as well as how you choose to spend your time. You could even regret how much time you used to spend on pastimes which weren’t progressing you in any way, and may have even been holding you back.

⋆☽  You feel different from friends and family…  ☾⋆

No matter how close you are with your friends and family, if you’re going through a spiritual awakening then it might be harder to connect with them.

Aside from the fact that you might be in a hermit phase, it can feel like you’re a different person now while no-one else has changed.

You might look around and notice that where you used to fit in perfectly, you’re now feeling like the odd one out. Yes, this can seem isolating, but you’re not alone and it’s a common symptom to have during a spiritual awakening.

    ⋆☽  You’re spiritually curious…  ☾⋆

What have you been Googling lately?

It’s common to want to learn more about spiritual topics such as being psychic, energy healing, near death experiences and the cosmos as you’re transitioning through an awakening.

The fact that you’ve read all the way to the end of this article is also a pretty big clue! People who haven’t experienced a spiritual awakening yet are very unlikely to be interested in learning about what it’s like to go through a spiritual awakening.

If you’re spiritually curious right now, your Google search history might be the final confirmation that you ARE in fact going through a spiritual awakening…

  • Why Some People Won’t Have A Spiritual Awakening

Isn’t it annoying when our friends and family won’t awaken with us?

From conversations with my clients and spiritual friends, this is the worst part about going through an awakening: the loneliness.

Feeling like you’re weird and strange.

Not being able to connect with people in your life in the same way that you did before.

This is only going to make us wish that they could come along for the ride with us, especially as we unwrap our gifts, connect with the Universe, and realise the full power that we have to create our own reality.

“Why can’t they see this too?”

Well, maybe they’re not meant to right now…

We all have different times for our awakening to start unfolding, and they are all as Divine as each other! I believe that there’s reasons why some people won’t spiritually awaken in this lifetime, and I’m going to share these with you.

Hopefully they’ll help you to see that it’s perfect; it’s Divine; it’s necessary for some people not to awaken. The only thing we can do in this situation is not to control them – but to work on our own acceptance of the new situation we find ourselves in.

It’s not our job to try and “fix” someone who we hope will awaken. It’s not for us to decide when their time is. They have to find the light when they’re ready to turn it on.

Here’s why it might not happen in this lifetime 🔮👇🏿

    ⋆☽ They don’t want to… ☾⋆

A lot of people might have the potential to awaken, but they have so much resistance.

Often this is an energetic issue where their Crown Chakra is closed, or so blocked by judgements that they lack a tangible connection to the Divine. When they lack that connection, they don’t feel as though they have any physical proof that anything else exists apart from our 1) physical bodies, 2) life and 3) death.

These people need evidence, and as spiritual people we already get a lot of that through signs, synchronicities, manifestations, card readings, etc…

But for someone who has never experienced any of that – or has never noticed any of that – it could be very hard to believe that there’s some truth in spirituality.

They also might not want to because of past life trauma…

Who else here feels like they were a witch in a past life? 🙋🏼‍♀️

    giphy

I strongly feel this way, and I actually believe that me, my mother and my sister were all witches together in lifetimes before. With these “witch wounds” comes a huge amount of fear about sharing our psychic gifts and being open about our spirituality.

We have so much fear of being persecuted because we literally were! And even today, we probably still will be by a lot of people.

These past life traumas were so intense that they still threaten our sense of security today. For some people, it’ll be so bad that they will not risk awakening in this lifetime.

It’s a similar story for people who have been brought up in strong religious traditions…

Or in any kind of belief system which would put them off awakening so badly in this lifetime because those beliefs are entrenched, and are what they have chosen to stick by.

For the same reason that we won’t change any beliefs, the benefits for these groups of people don’t outweigh the costs of being a spiritual person in today’s society.

If they don’t feel safe and the fears are too strong, they won’t be in a state of allowing and believing in the magic of the Universe like we understand it.

    ⋆☽ They’re not ready… ☾⋆

Other people will awaken in this lifetime, but just… not yet.

It’s for no-one to say when they’ll awaken, as that’s up to their soul and the big-U for when their awakening is due. It’s written into their life plan somewhere, but we just can’t see when it will be.

Some people awaken from a sudden, tragic life event. Some people awaken through the people they meet and the places they end up. Some people awaken through a magical metaphysical experience.

You just have to be patient with these people.

You may not still know them when they awaken, but, if you do, you’ll be the first person they come to for advice, and you can be their support because you know what it’s like to awaken and feel alone.

Awakenings can’t be forced and it’s not for us to decide when someone else’s is going to happen. We can just be grateful when it finally does!

⋆☽ Their path is to help others awaken… ☾⋆

    … without awakening themselves.

This is the heaviest one, because, as I said before, some people awaken through tragic and sudden life events. For me, I don’t think I’d be in spirituality if I hadn’t moved in with my alcoholic stepfather at age 13. He’s at end-stage alcoholism now, so it’s incredibly unlikely that he will awaken in this lifetime.

However, if his soul had not made that sacrifice then I probably wouldn’t be here now making it my life’s work to teach about spirituality and help many others through their awakening (and then helping them to set up spiritual businesses which will help many others through their spiritual awakenings!)

I also think this about psychopathic killers and people who we see as “evil” who have a huge impact on the world. We only see and talk about the negative impact, but the positive impact which comes afterwards isn’t publicised.

Through every tragic event there are people who find each other, set up new charities and businesses, and make it their life’s mission to stop the same thing happening again. Some souls make sacrifices to help to get others on their right path.

There is good in every situation and it is these souls who help us to see it through it through the contrast that they provide.

It’s like a soul sacrifice that they made when they came here to Earth, and even if they don’t awaken – and seem like they’re so far from ever awakening and having empathy – their soul still contributes to the network of awakened souls that is illuminating the whole globe.

    ☽ ☆ ☾

Our job isn’t to make unwilling people awaken – it’s to help the ones who are.

In the spiritual community, we can reach out and help others rise up who are discovering the secrets of the Universe for the first time and feeling isolated by their new gifts and realisations.

It is not our job to force anyone to do anything that they don’t want to do. That would only push people further away and would be coming from a place of our own scarcity!

By shining brightly and being our best spiritual selves, we will gradually inspire others to do the same.

When someone won’t awaken, the best thing we can do is to live our lives as an example.

Their time will come when they are ready.

  • 3 Main Benefits of Daily Gratitude

Gratitude is an underrated hack for happiness.

If I could retrace my steps back to when my life changed for the better, I am sure it would be the day I chose to be actively grateful every single day.

Choosing gratitude is also a decision to improve your life. But like anything worthwhile, finding things to be grateful for is a skill that must be honed until a grateful mindset starts to feel natural and automatic. A mind full of gratitude given time will lead to a heart full of gratitude – and when you have a heart full of gratitude, then the world as you know it will become a whole lot brighter…

Benefit #1 ⋆The Little Things Become Great Things

    When appreciation grows, abundance flows.

Appreciation creates abundance in all areas of our life, because gratitude is a sister energy of love. Love is the life force of all creation, so by giving gratitude for something you are breathing life into it and willing it to multiply in your life.

Through the unforgiving lens of our mind, many of the occurrences in our life can seem thankless and irrelevant, or worse, inconvenient and unwelcome. But by forcing yourself to be grateful for all of them – regardless of their consequences – you are acknowledging the higher truth that everything happens for your highest benefit.

Whatever the situation, we can always be thankful in advance, even when the lessons we have been assigned to learn through the school of hard knocks haven’t been illuminated to us yet.

Benefit #2 ⋆ Feeling More Resilient

A Harvard researcher had an amazing discovery. When a study group practised gratitude for 21 days as part of a psychology experiment, the benefits of a more positive mindset remained visible for the next 6 months! When our gratitude muscle is well-trained and strong, we can adequately defend ourselves against bouts of negativity and challenging life events.

After practising daily gratitude for a while, you will begin to realise that the things which once impacted your mood now don’t hurt you as much. A positive mindset is a remedy for most things, and with the sense of wellbeing that a grateful mind brings, you can sail the stormy seas of your emotions and keep yourself dry during life’s downpours using the umbrella of your positive mind. ☂️

Benefit #3 ⋆ Social Contagion Effect

By filling yourself up with gratitude, your own issues will become less concerning to you so you can redistribute that emotional energy as compassion for others.

Your energy is infectious, and due to our empathetic nature as social creatures we are all susceptible to a social contagion effect. Stanford University (1998) defines social contagion as “the spread of affect or behaviour from one crowd participant to another; one person serves as the stimulus for the imitative actions of another.”

Your behaviour signals to others what is acceptable behaviour from them. This means that we all carry huge influence through our behaviour due to this social contagion effect. If it is true that there are 6 degrees of separation between us and every other person on the planet, then all of our actions are loaded with the potential for huge impact. Daily gratitude not only changes your life for the better, but by emotional osmosis you will infect the people around you with a sunnier outlook too.
