♕ Marketing Magic ♕

  • Weird & Woo Marketing Tips That Will Help Your Business

I’m all about the woo and I’m guessing you are too.

I know without a doubt that there’s no activity or outcome which can’t be enhanced with a little dose of energy magic, so I’m 100% for it in every area of my life – including my daily business and marketing activities.

If you know that you can change the world around you with your energy, thoughts and actions, then why wouldn’t you implement that in everything you do?

Especially when it comes to the vehicle that’s going to allow you to create the most impact in the world, while also steering you closer to all of your own dreams. If it’s well aligned, you can live out all of your values through your business; like for me, mine are 1) freedom and 2) impact.

I try to load all of my business and marketing activities with maximum positive impact.

I also believe in karma. So, if you believe in karma too, you should try out some of these weird and woo marketing tips that will keep your clients coming back to you again and again…

Every time I hit “send” on an email – whether it’s an Angel Card reading, a Tarot reading, or to an editor of a magazine – I send it with love. Literally.

I’ll think in my head “I love you” or “God bless you” as I hit send. I don’t say it out loud (so no-one would ever know) but sending that love and positivity to people adds an extra energetic dimension to what you’re delivering.

When you’re sending high vibrations out to people, on some level they’ll receive them – and they’ll feel them. To be honest, I don’t do this with Instagram DM’s because I power through them quickly, but with something that I spend more time and attention on (like emails) I’ll always send with love.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-3

I do the exact same thing when I send things out in the post (aka the ol’ snail mail…)

I definitely recommend that you do this if you send postal orders as part of your business, because it gives you a moment to appreciate each and every item that you’re sending out – as well as each and every customer you have. You can also think of the intention “may this bring them more than they invested” if you want your customer to get more than just the item itself.

I also do this if I’m sending a birthday card to friends and family; I’ll always post it with love and a positive intention, expecting the person to receive it when they open that card.

If you’re thinking “hmm what?“, let me explain…

I want you to step INTO the person that you hope to become before you step OUT into the world.

This means taking a brief moment before filming anything – like an IG story, IGTV, TIK TOK or YouTube video – to assume the identity of the you who already has everything you want.

This is a pro manifesting tip because it allows you to easily align with the life you’re creating. If you want to be a leader in your field, then step into the role of already being that person before you share your message.

This will make people see you as such, and respond to you as such, and trust in you as such, and therefore – buy from you as such.

It will also help you to become more comfortable in that identity. Therefore, making it easier for the Universe to match you with the results you really want.

Practice becoming the person that you want to be every time you show yourself to the world.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-5

This is probably the least weird of the woo tips, but I’m going to mention it anyway.

I definitely recommend having a notepad which is just for catching all of that wonderful Divine inspiration that flows through you. If you’re a writer, I pretty much demand it!

If you don’t grab inspiration when it comes through, it’s easily forgotten. That’s the difference between inspiration and a thought – when it’s not made by your own brain, it’s harder to retrace. It flows through and out in a second, so it’s important to catch it, use it, and share it with the world.

I have a lot of notepads, but there’s one I use without any structure because it’s solely for my inspiration. I’ll group a few pages for a course that I’m working on and a few pages for a book concept, just so the inspiration is organised by project, but I can then write random inspo anywhere in that section.

When the day comes to put the course or book together, I can then sort all of those random sparks into sections that make sense.

An inspiration notepad will allow you to get the best out of your work and will make it so much easier for you to put something together because you’ll have plenty of juicy details from the ideas that you caught weeks or months beforehand.

Make sure it’s a notepad that you love with a lush design (most of mine have inspirational quotes on) and keep it close by at all times. You’ll need it.

Not getting the type of customers that you want? It’s time to set a new energetic boundary!

Like everything else in life, we attract the least that we’ll accept. So, if you find yourself serving people who aren’t appreciating your work, with offers you don’t enjoy doing, it’s time to raise your energetic boundary.

Refuse from this point on to accept money coming in from any way that you don’t absolutely love.

Attract customers who love what you do and respect your time, while also making it a non-negotiable that you won’t devote any of yourself to doing things you feel trapped by.

It’s your business – you are not trapped.

No-one owns it apart from you, so you get to decide what you do. Don’t forget that.

If something is making you really unhappy over the long term, it’s an energetic boundary issue. Refuse to accept less than what you really want, and the good stuff will start showing up.

You can attract the customers and results you desire if you’re sharing offers which you truly believe in and enjoy doing.

Intuitive business done my way is what I live by, and it’s what I encourage everyone else to do too.

I really don’t care what other people think I “should” be doing, because I can feel my own solutions and I can see the answers. Whenever I get really stuck, I literally close my eyes and try to see the answer. I feel what I should be offering and when; I feel when the time is right to do so; and I see the words on a page when I just can’t think what I should write next. If you’re intuitive, it’s your greatest ally.

There are millions of entrepreneurs in the world who don’t utilise this tool enough, and you don’t have to be one of them.

Feel your solutions, see your answers, and trust your intuition. It will give you an extra edge when it comes to marketing your business. Your gifts aren’t separate from your offerings in business, so combine them all together for maximum impact.

I hope you enjoyed these and that they weren’t too “woo” for you. I shared them because I know they work and that your energy amplifies the results of everything you do.

For amazing results with all of your business and marketing: just add a little woo ✨

  • How To Pick A Niche For Your Spiritual Business

If you want to make money from something spiritual – or you already do as a spiritual entrepreneur – you might be wondering what your “thing” is going to be…

Do you want to be known as a manifestation queen? Will you be a meditation guru? Or are you going to sparkle as a witchy Wicca lady?

The answer is: you can be any of these, and more!

I’ve always had the same problem in that I’ve been an all-rounder since school. I say an “all-rounder” not to be annoying because I think people have a misconception that “oh, it would be great to be an all-rounder“, but it’s actually really confusing. When nothing really rises above anything else, it makes it hard – almost impossible – to know which way to go.

I thought I’d write this blog because I’ve recently made the decision to completely and entirely accept both sides of myself without resistance; the intuitive spiritual side + the organised business side.

And this is exactly what I want you to do.

I tell my coaching clients who are creating spiritual brands about the process of naturally niching.

“Naturally niching” means that you do whatever you desire to do and then, over time, you see what naturally falls away and what you get drawn to. Your niche will become clear once you try on all of your desires and 1) get better results in some things than others, while 2) you enjoy doing some things more than others.

So, my advice for picking a niche in your spiritual business is this ↓

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-2

This isn’t what I’ve ever read in a marketing book or heard anyone else recommend – but here we go…

I entirely believe in doing this because I know it works and I trust in the Universe to guide you where you need to go. Your intuition will eventually make it clear what’s right or wrong.

When I moved to Glastonbury last year, I’d never been before in my whole life. I literally booked a viewing for a flat, came here, and then just had to feeeeel whether it was right or not. That’s literally how I make all of my decisions: I go to the thing, or start the thing, and then feel how I feel, and then I’ll know if it’s right – or not.

I strongly recommend that you try this too.

When we only think with our head and logic, that’s often how we end up completely unhappy and out of alignment. You can only feeeeel when you’re in alignment.

If you don’t know which way to go next with your spiritual business, try all of the things you really want to try – answer your desires – and then feel whatever is the best fit, while allowing everything else to fall away. This is naturally niching, and it will lead you to your most fulfilling outcome.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-4

I’m a visual learner so whenever I feel like there’s a million different things flying around in my head, I write them all down.

If you’re trying to choose between a few different niches, you can write them as a list or brainstorm them out on a piece of paper. You might then notice that you don’t actually have as many options to choose between as you thought. It may just feel like a lot because you’re holding them all in your head and struggling to know which one to move forward with.

By seeing them all sitting there on a piece of paper…

    1. ✦ You’ll feel less overwhelmed
    2. ✦ You won’t have to hold them all in your brain
    3. ✦ It might become obvious which one you’re most drawn to

By writing them all out and physically seeing them, you should be able to quickly eliminate some, leaving you with fewer niches to choose from.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-5

This relates back to the results you’re getting, which I talked about with naturally niching.

What do people come to you for?

You can investigate this by asking your friends, followers and customers what they think you’re best at and what expertise they come to you for. You might already be sitting in a niche that you don’t identify with yet!

If you offer multiple products and services, you could also look at your order history to see which have sold the most. You could even look at your Instagram, social media and blog posts to see which type of posts get the most eyeballs and traction.

Other people might already see you as being in a niche, even if you don’t see yourself in one yet.

    ☽ ☆ ☾

The most important thing is that you don’t force yourself into a niche.

If you feel pressured to do so before you’re ready, you could back your business into a corner that will be harder to get out of later. It will also be harder for you to discover which other niches might be a better fit for you.

That’s why I think it’s so important for you to try all of the different things that you want to try and test out your desired niches. Once you finally know how your different niche options feel and what you’re truly great at, you can set yourself up for spiritual success.

  • How To Deal With Social Media Overwhelm As A Sensitive Soulpreneur

Social media can be overwhelming. Especially if you’re a highly sensitive person.

The problem is that if you’re a soulpreneur with your own business, having a social media platform is a crucial part of attracting clients.

If you find that you’re struggling to spread yourself across your different social media accounts, try these tips to reclaim your power and avoid overwhelm!

    Screenshot 2020-04-21 at 17.41.48

⋆☽  Set a time limit, and stick to it  ☾⋆

As my platform grew, I had to sacrifice my ability to reply to messages right away. Can you relate to the feeling of getting lost in your phone replying to messages and when you finally come up for air, you notice that a whole hour has passed?

It can be dangerous for your productivity and sense of calm if your precious time is disappearing on activities that aren’t at the top of your priority list. As I tell my clients if I don’t reply straight away – it’s not because I’ve forgotten – it’s because I dedicate a time slot in my day to replying to all of my messages in one fell swoop…

This means that I have the mental space available to focus on each activity fully, instead of ending up frustrated that my time has vanished from picking up my phone every 2 minutes and responding to each message as it drops in. If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed from replying to messages all day, try dedicating a time slot to replying to everything in one go – it’s a game-changer!

⋆☽  Switch to voice notes instead of written replies  ☾⋆

If you’re not used to talking on video (like Insta stories, YouTube or Facebook lives), then it might feel a tad awkward and uncomfortable at first. But I promise you that it’s a hell of a lot faster to send someone a 1-minute voice note telling them everything you want to say, instead of spending 10 minutes writing out a wordy response.

I find that coaches often use this technique because they’re used to responding to clients all day. Not only does it save your time, but it’s actually a much more fun and personal way to reply anyway. It’s so easy for sentiment to get lost in translation with written messages, but with a voice note, you can express everything that you want to, in less time!

⋆☽  Focus on a few platforms, and do them well  ☾⋆

My favourite? Definitely Instagram! But you can also find me on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tik Tok and YouTube…. phew. It’s a lot, and if you’re a soulpreneur, I’m guessing that you also have a few different social media profiles as well as an email list to maintain.

If you’re still at the solopreneur stage where you don’t have anyone helping you, it’s vital that you’re respectfully managing your own time and expectations. Maybe this is your year to focus fully on Instagram, while your other accounts keep themselves ticking over. Or maybe YouTube is your calling and where you’re having the most traction, so it’s time for you to dive deep into creating new videos.

Think about where you’re collecting the most followers with ease, what you enjoy creating content for, and which platform is actually giving you the best return on your time investment – eg, reads for your blog or sales for your service. When it comes to social media, you can’t do them all and you definitely can’t do them all well if you’re just one person. Choose one or two platforms that you’re going to be a boss at, and then maybe you can reconsider next year; for example, mine are Instagram and Facebook.

⋆☽  Create a posting schedule you can honour  ☾⋆

When does this blog drop? Wednesday. Every Wednesday without fail. The only times I haven’t posted since October 2018 were the week I got married and the 2 Christmas weeks (2018 and 2019). Each time this was planned and announced on social media.

I often have people say how amazed they are that I manage to post a new blog every single week, but the truth is that there are other people who manage to post a new blog every single day! I wouldn’t be able to honour that posting schedule, so I stick to once a week instead.

Being overambitious with how often you want to post can be the death knell of your social media life. You can begin posting every single day on Instagram and feel buzzed about it, but if it isn’t sustainable then you end up feeling frustrated that you’re falling behind and give up completely. Sustainable is better than a schedule that sounds sexy but isn’t destined for the long-term. Post once a month or once a week if you need to – whatever you think is actually realistic and feels good for you.

Drop it down so that you can keep it up.

    ☽ ☆ ☾

So, there you have it – the secrets to how I live my social media life.

Do you have any social media tips of your own which could help someone else to avoid overwhelm? Post it in the comments to help your fellow soulpreneurs!

  • Spiritual Gift Ideas For Friends & Family This Christmas

I learnt while working in fashion that the single most powerful thing we can do for the planet is to spend our money intentionally. If we stop spending our money on the things which are damaging the environment – for example, not being recyclable – then eventually they will disappear. It’s the big companies that are at our mercy and not the other way around…

If you have spiritual friends & family to buy for this Christmas – or you want to give them more than just a generic throwaway item – here are some meaningful gift ideas for you!

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-53

If you read about my experience getting a natal birth chart reading last month, you’ll know what a sacred and special gift it is. Buying an astrology birth chart reading for your friend or family member will give them the gift of understanding what their unique personality traits are and why they might have them, as well as what their strengths and weaknesses will be in this lifetime. You’ll just need to know when and where they were born.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-55

These are the only brand of candles I buy now. Crystabelles soya vegan candles are handmade in Oxford, England and smell amazing! They also have a crystal on each candle which gives them all different healing qualities, and they come in a gorgeous black and rose gold gift box.

I actually have two of these candles on the Christmas gift list I just sent out to my family. I used to use Woodwick and Yankee Candles but these are so much better and more environmentally friendly. If you need to buy for someone who uses candles, this is the gift for them. 🕯️

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-56

I bought one of these as a gift for my stepfather’s birthday on 4th Dec because he really doesn’t need any more “stuff” filling up the house. He’s not particularly spiritual, but I think that anyone can enjoy and benefit from a relaxing session of Reiki. It can help to clear their energy for the New Year and may even help to alleviate symptoms of physical pain that they have. You can pay for a 1-hour session in advance and make your own voucher on Canva.com to put in their Christmas card.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-58

I only learnt this year that most wrapping paper isn’t actually recyclable! The only type which can be recycled is brown parcel paper with a printed design, without any glitter or foil. Therefore, I’ve wrapped all of my Christmas presents in recycled and recyclable ♻️ brown printed wrapping paper this year. The price was the same but the cost to the environment was far less…

    ☽ ☆ ☾

I hope these spiritual gift ideas have given you some inspiration for meaningful, sustainable presents that you can buy for your loved ones. It’s important to be intentional with where you place your money as your spending carries huge power over how the world changes for the future.
