☏ Hello? It’s Your Soul Calling ☏

  • Keep Noticing Butterflies? Here’s What They Mean…

“We are all butterflies, Earth is our chrysalis…” – LeeAnn Taylor
Butterflies are spiritual messengers, so they can bring your attention to things you need to be aware of. A common idea which you may have heard is that butterflies symbolise the visitation of a loved one. In Japanese tradition, this is especially true for white butterflies, which are said to embody the soul of someone we’ve loved and lost. When we experience the loss of something, it’s always entwined with a new beginning; and therefore, a new opportunity for change and renewal. Through death, we know what life is; and through loss, we know what it means to have something really special. If you notice that a butterfly keeps visiting you (or landing on your windowsill, for example) then it could be a sign that a spirit is trying to get your attention and show that they’re still with you.

🦋 A Powerful Symbol of Change

Butterflies can also be seen as a powerful symbol of resurrection and immortality – reminding you that you can weather any dramatic change and come out the other side as a better version of yourself. What challenge are you facing that’s forcing you to rise up to a new level? What beliefs do you need to leave behind in order to embrace this new opportunity? Due to the process of change that they endure, we’re reminded of our potential to transform into the most bold and colourful version of ourselves. Resurrection, rebirth and new hope are all possible for you, if you keep noticing butterflies. If you make it through whatever’s troubling you at the moment, you’ll realise your potential to expand and turn your life around. Butterflies remind you to weather all change with grace and lightheartedness, while demonstrating that it will always be in your best interest. It may not seem like it in the moment, but anything which contributes to our growth is a blessing in disguise. Know that you’re capable of withstanding any hand you’re dealt in life and that anything which makes you wiser is a gift. Sometimes it will just be wrapped in a way that makes it hard to receive at first.

    🦋 In Your Dreams…

When we’re asleep, our subconscious mind is communicating with us using symbols. Butterflies in our dreams can have a different meaning depending on what stage of life we see the butterfly in – was it a caterpillar, cocoon or butterfly? It could mean that you want to expand, be free and express yourself fully – or that you see yourself as (or long to be) a “social butterfly”. Knowing which aspects of the animal we might want to embody is key to understanding why we see certain animals in our dreams at night. They may also be a visual manifestation of where you feel stuck in your life. If your soul is longing for transformation and change in your relationship – or career – then you may see butterflies in a related scene of your dream. Where do you want to feel lighter and more free? And where do you know that you’re not reaching your full potential?

Seeing a butterfly in your dreams could be a calling for you to find joy in life, find joy in change, and move forward into new challenges with the grace to know that you can always spread your wings and start again.

Live like a butterfly, and remember to enjoy the process of life’s continual unfolding.

  • How To Read Angel Cards Like A Pro

“So I call on my Angels, they say….” – Rise by Katy Perry
Our support is never-ending. We like to think there are limits because boundaries are so familiar to us on the Earth plane, but when we want some help or wisdom, the possibilities are limitless. One of the tools we have available is our Angel Cards. Unlike Tarot Cards, Angel Cards are oracle cards that offer advice rather than telling you exactly what will happen in the future. In my opinion, this makes Angel Cards far more suitable for anyone who’s starting out with cards because they’ll always offer positive, healing advice and can even be used by children. Tarot Cards, however, can foretell catastrophe in your future so they’re not for the fainthearted. They can leave you feeling more anxious than before the reading. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve been using my tarot cards as an extension of my intuition since I was 14 – but the vibration of them is very different and they aren’t always positive. So, if you need some advice and are feeling called to turn to Angel Cards, how can you begin to use them like a pro?

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-46

Everything is energy, including our Angel Cards. To get the most accurate answer possible from every reading, it’s important to cleanse your cards between use. This doesn’t mean literally taking a cleaning wipe to them (which could damage the card) – but it does mean giving them an energetic refresh! Some methods include knocking the deck to shift old energy (I knock mine twice before each reading), ringing Angel tuning forks over them, or burning white sage near them. Whichever you choose, make sure that you keep your cards energetically clean for the best results.

Intention supports the outcome of everything that we do in life, and the same is true when shuffling oracle cards! Get into a meditative headspace first and try to clear your mind of any distractions before asking a question. This may mean that you need to devote extra time to readings to allow your mind to wind down first. Stay calm. Breathe. And then ask the Angels what you want help with…

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-48

When you’re shuffling the cards, you should start to feel that there’s a natural point for you to stop. Sometimes this could mean a quick rearrange of the cards. Other times, you’ll want to keep shuffling, and shuffling, and shuffling… Neither is wrong, and when performing a reading, the most important thing is to leave logical reasoning at the door and follow your intuition. Whenever you feel called to stop shuffling, then stop shuffling and trust that what feels right.

⚠️ It’s really important that you don’t try to do a reading when you’re feeling rushed or frantic because not only will it throw your intuition off, but your frantic energy will feed into the cards (see tip #1) and affect the answer you get. Maybe the Angels will tell you ways to relax rather than answering the question that you asked!

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-49

As you’d expect, your answers will be more helpful if your question is more specific. If you ask for advice on your “love life” in general then the advice may not be as useful as if you asked: “what do I need to move forward in my relationship with Anthony?” Reading cards can become addictive, and if this happens, you may feel the urge to read, and read, and read the same question repeatedly. As you can guess, this is bad practice when performing Angel Card readings and will only make you more confused than before you read the cards. Get super clear on what you want to know and ask the cards for advice once, until enough has changed in the situation to warrant new advice being needed.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-50

Most of the time I’ll do a one card reading… This means that I will shuffle, divide the deck, stack the piles back on top of each other in a different order, and turn over the card on top of the deck. This one card will provide a summary of the advice that I need for the question or person that I’m reading for. But there are other ways of doing a reading! For example, you can divide the deck into 3 piles and turn over the top card of all 3 to reveal the past, present and future of a situation. Or you can look at the cards on the top and bottom of the deck to reveal the answer to your query (the top card) and the background to what’s causing the issue (the bottom card). Most oracle card decks will also come with an instruction guidebook which should be able to show you different layouts for reading the cards.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-51

Be aware that you get given what you need and not necessarily what you want. I always say that the right message will find the right person because sometimes we’ll be surprised with what shows up. It may be regarding a situation that isn’t at the forefront of our mind – but the Angel Card reading might address an addiction or relationship pattern which is at the root of the other issues manifesting in our life. When you start doing readings, the most important thing is to keep your mind open and always consider the actual answers that you’re given. How are they relevant to you, and are they drawing your attention towards a behaviour that you’ve not noticed before? Be prepared to get more than just predictable answers which are easy for you to digest.

    Gatekeeper Blog copy-52

You have been blessed with the natural gift of intuition as well as tools like Angel Cards to help support you on your journey through life. It’s impossible to receive the wrong answer from them as you’ll always get what you need. If you’re over-reading the same question and getting answers which don’t seem at all relevant, then it’s the Angels telling you to stop because they already gave you the right answer to begin with! As with any kind of divination, trust is a vital part of the process. As you practice Angel Card readings and start to see how the answers apply to your life, you will learn to trust the cards. • The Word That Stops You From Manifesting

Ahhh obligation. Who doesn’t love it?

Well… to be honest, most of us – including me!

The things that we feel obligated to do have been decided for us by someone else, rather than our own internal guidance system. It can be all to easy for us to fall into the trap of filling our time with SHOULD‘s and there are ways to know when this is happening:

    • What do you do to please or appease someone else?
    • What do you do that you could do without?
    • If you had your time again (hint: you still have the rest of your life), what would you do differently knowing who you are now?

Our intuition is the way into our dreams, so when we ignore it, we’re promising ourselves to go without. Great manifesting is aligned with the desires of our heart because our desires are Divinely guided! When we line up our energy, intention and calling, we open up a pathway for our manifestations to come to us quicker than an excited child down a waterslide.

When we line up our energy, intention and calling, we open up a pathway for our manifestations to come to us…

Removing the should‘s is a bold act of self-love. A statement to the Universe that you accept nothing less than the best, and are not open to receiving anything apart from what you desire. If you aren’t free to go where other people want you to, then you have more space to find your own way towards what you want. Again, provided that your desires are aligned and guided from your genuine heart and soul – you will find more joy here; and as your vibration increases, your ability to attract via the Law will increase too…

Finding joy is such a key part of manifesting. Often it sounds like manifesting is about looking forward and creating something new, but the magic of manifesting happens when we’re able to find the beauty in what we have. My best manifestations came when I had the realisation that I was totally happy where I was. I often get private messages from people asking for help to manifest different things – and my response is always the same: be totally and completely happy without the thing.

Maybe we’re trying to manifest something because we feel like we should. Maybe we’re directing our energy away from our manifestations because we’re busy focusing on what other people say we need to be happy. Maybe the life of your dreams is waiting for you if you’re brave enough to release the obligation and accept your full power of manifestation.

The only thing that you should do is make decisions that are true to you. Period.

You are a creator and you have been trusted with an amazing gift. Use it to create the things that will fill you with joy, and in turn, you’ll transfer joy to the people around you; who will transfer joy to the people around them…

Say no, choose where to go – and honey, just let it flow!

  • How To Find Your Calling

When you’re being called to something, you can’t escape it.

You’ll see the signs everywhere and words will stand out as though they’re being spoken directly to you. Nothing else will fulfil you as much as your calling, and your soul knows this deep within so it will do everything in its power to guide you towards it.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have spent the early years of your life going along with what you thought you “should” do or what you felt was a “good idea” at the time. We often make decisions hoping for safety rather than satisfaction but in our safety zone, we get bored, regretful and unfulfilled. Living in your calling will feel safe in a different way – as though it’s the right home for your soul.

When you are finally ready to be called to something, you are likely to experience these 5 things…

    ⋆☽

You’ve tried other things and nothing seems to be working out

    ☾⋆

Maybe your one true calling is the only thing left – the one thing that you’ve been afraid to start because deep down you know it’ll be the last time you try something for the first time. When things don’t work out the way we thought they would, it’s because the Universe is guiding us onto a different path. We can’t always see how this could be good for us at the time, but at some point, the reason we took the journey we took will all become clear.

If nothing is working out the way you thought it would, then it’s time to create a fresh start for yourself by trying something new. Only by trying something that you’ve never tried before can you find what you’ve always been looking for.

    ⋆☽

    Returning to your childhood passions

    ☾⋆

As a child, we’re free from a lot of the conditioning and limiting beliefs that we adopt while we’re growing up. We haven’t been told we can’t yet, so we’re inclined to believe that we can. The things that we’re naturally drawn to in childhood – often without explanation – are very likely to be related to our soul’s calling.

For example, I used to spend my Saturday’s shopping for incense, the right coloured candles to cast spells with, and filling the local neighbourhood with animal rights posters. None of my family or friends were interested in any of these things, so I always look back with curiosity wondering why an 8-year-old felt inspired to burn incense alone in her room. Spirituality always called me, and after a few detours, I inevitably came back around to it in later life.

    ⋆☽

You could see yourself doing it forever, without wanting to change again

    ☾⋆

There is a tiny voice at the back of your head which says: “if I did that, then I would never need to do anything else again”. We often know what we’d find the most fulfilling, but we decide to do other things first because of money, fun, travel or the effort involved in changing across.

Our calling is the final stop of our soul’s journey in this lifetime, so when you know that there’s something which you could do forever, then that’s an important indication of your calling. Of course, your calling will be challenging at times just like all things in life – but you will find reserves of resilience and gumption that can only be redeemed in service of your true purpose.

    ⋆☽

    Retirement no longer appeals

    ☾⋆

Shocker! Many people spend their lives counting down to retirement, but there really are some people who don’t. After 43 years on the BBC, presenter Terry Wogan said that he’d “never worked a day in his life” because he spent the whole time doing what he loved – and it showed! The audience loved him and he loved what he was able to give to the audience, so it’s no wonder that he was still presenting until the day he died aged 77.

Let’s not be deluded in thinking that hard work, early mornings and compromises won’t be involved – but when your calling is more rewarding than anything else, stopping it forever won’t seem so appealing anymore. When we’re desperate to quit or leave something for a long period of time, it’s because we’ve already learnt everything that we needed to and it’s time to move on to the next chapter.

    ⋆☽

A WHY bigger than all the rest

    ☾⋆

Our soul’s calling is our big why. Why we’re here. Why we’re drawn to what we enjoy doing. And it’s the why we can’t ignore anymore. In whatever way you want to make a difference, you must make the biggest difference that you can in your own unique way. It’s why you’re here after all!

Whatever you personally think the biggest problem in the world today is will probably be the problem that you’re here to solve. Our desires are divinely guided, so our instincts are what lead us to the calling of our intuition. Whether you’re driven by innovating, making people laugh, taking care of sick animals or fighting for people who don’t have a voice – your why is what will keep your vision sustainable and fulfil you more than anything you do to answer someone else’s why.

    ☽ ☆ ☾

Your feelings will guide you to what’s right for you, so invest time in considering what brings you the most joy.

Don’t be afraid to try new things and trust that each experience is an integral part of your journey towards your calling. Everything happens for a reason. Keep the faith and steer your life towards the tasks which make you feel most alive.

Your calling will always find you, just as soon as the time is right.
